I was raised a Master Mason in June 1982 at Siloam Lodge #276, Oklahoma City, OK. In addition to being a member of John L DeGrazier Lodge #1349, I am an endowed/lifetime member of Siloam Lodge #276 and of Allen Lodge #1435 in Allen, Texas. I am a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Dallas, Orient of Texas. I hold an FCC Extra Class Amateur Radio License and have assisted Civil Defense and relief organizations after many severe storms and disasters.
My grandfather, George C. “Jack” Vestal, was a Master Mason. My mother and grandmother were members of Eastern Star. During High School, I was active in DeMolay. I advanced through the offices to Master Counselor. One of my most influential DeMolay Chapter Dads was Aubrey R. Erhart, Past Grand Master of Oklahoma (1965). When I visited Siloam Lodge #276 to inquire about membership, the Secretary of the Lodge, after hearing some of my background, took me to view the corner stone of the building. It had been leveled by Grand Master Erhart!
I enjoy the symbolisms and moral lessons of THE Degrees. The ancient history is interesting and I enjoy reading and studying it. Because of Masonry and my Brothers, I will be a better man tomorrow than I am today. The Masonic journey of personal improvement has no end.
